About

Who am I?

Hi! I am Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio, the missus of my darling Mr. Bonifacio and author of this blog. Many know me by my nickname Rica, having used it since I was 12 years old, the age when I joined Philippine TV.

In 2012, I accidentally shifted to being less of a celebrity when I began blogging about my mountain climbing experiences. Since then, my online life has never been the same. Recognizing that the blogging platform and my social media accounts have brought new weight and influence to my name, I now use it to jumpstart projects that can serve others.

Currently, I am building 100% Whole Mom with my heaven-sent partners Cheska Garcia-Kramer and Marilen Faustino-Montenegro. Whole Mom is a passion project manifesting in a series of workshops for mothers, to empower and teach them about the home, beauty, and heart.

Aside from that, I am also working on my new lifestyle talk show for moms (also with Cheska Garcia-Kramer!) on CNN Philippines called Mommy Hacks.

In my quiet days I just love to serve and enjoy my husband and son, raise women leaders and disciple the next generation, form and fashion things at home, read books and write thoughts, take off for month long explorations, savor coffee and candy apples, do everything for the honor and glory of My Triune God.

What to expect from the Blog

rica

Books

I obviously love reading. No one endures AB-Literature if not for an insane amount of love for reading. So from time to time, do expect book reviews and recommendations.

But BOOKS, for me, stands for something more than reading and that is education. Aside from reading, I value learning and lessons. Most of my blogs actually spring from reflections and realizations I gain as I continue to read from the Book of Life.

Babies

When Philip was born my life has changed forever. Motherhood has challenged, humbled and strengthened me in so many ways. My son’s birth also came with the budding of a new person within me, which I am growing to know and love.

This has brought me closer to my wonderful husband, as well, and renewed my relationships with old friends and family. I have always known my children will be bridges and pathways for restoration and in a way, BABIES stands for my deep value for family and relationships. Many of which, figure in the stories I share over here.

Boarding Passes

My youth was much spent on playgrounds and monkey bars and until today, no one will dare call me the timid, prim and proper type. (To my mother’s disappointment, haha!) Fly, swim, bike, hike, crawl, scramble, name it and I will want to be off to a new exploration, a new adventure. I personally like to be stretched in all ways: spiritually, intellectually, and physically. So do expect lots of posts that show you where we are, what and how we are doing, in this or that part of the world!

    Hi Carla,

Your talk with your husband last March in Victory Ortigas really had an impact on me. I learned so much about seasons, dealing with them the best way possible, and how to be a better Christian woman whose knight in shining armor who will die for me has already come. I’d like to share with you a fruit of that eye-opening and heart-changing talk. Thank you, Carla and Joe. Here is a song I wrote inspired by the talk, among other wells of inspiration: https://soundcloud.com/glo-anne-guevarra/broken-pieces-original-joy-camille-g-gomez

Thank you for inspiring singles. Hope you continue to do what you do. 🙂

Hi, Ms. Rica. You inspire me soooo much with your blog! More than your beautiful minimalist theme (spent days looking for the same raw theme but no luck haha), I love how the contents are so on point. You influence me to pursue my blogging dreams (’cause I also love reading and writing) and most importantly, your relationship with God inspires me in a deep level. You empower me! Way to go, Ms. Rica. Continue to be a blessing.

    Dear Mrs. Bo,

This is Lucile B. Tanalas, editor in chief of Health & Home. I read your article on “Death and Love: What to look for in a future spouse” and I love it. I know the readers of Health & Home will also be blessed and inspired reading your article.

May I ask permission to reprint this in Health & Home? I hope to include this in our March-April 2017 issue.

By the way, Health & Home is a missionary magazine, hence our remuneration is not much–just PhP1,350. But more than the monetary compensation is the joy of knowing that you have touched other people’s lives for good.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    God bless.

    Lucile

hello Mrs Bo, i been reading your blog recently and find your articles enhancing to us women in whatever status in life we are and the different roles we play. be it on being single, a wife, a mother, a career woman or a just a “plain jane”. but what amazes me most is how the Lord had transformed you into the woman you have become now, whom He wonderfully made and intricately fashioned in your mother’s womb. your life story is truly an inspiration to many. God is all the while at work in you both to will and to do His good pleasure.
