My boy does not like kids church. Yes, the poster boy for a heaven-sent kind of child doesn’t really like all godly activities. After all, he is cute and also, sinful. We all are, isn’t that what Romans says (Romans 3:23)? So ya, even the cutest of the flock are sinners and we parents have to deal with that. But I digress.
Philip does not like kids church, refuses to participate, however, loves the snacks. I have a strange feeling that he will keep coming back if only for the snacks part. This reminded me of my friend who came to know the Lord because she was hung over and hungry. (Oh I know this hunger so well! I have been through it so many times before I met Jesus, haha.) The truth is that she went only to church because they were serving food and she had no more money after a night of spending it away on booze. Guess what? She is now a powerful campus missionary. Can you imagine where that hunger led her? And how the food from church took its part in her salvation and ultimately, her calling in life?
Church, KEEP SERVING FOOD. Both food for the body AND food for the spirit. So many people are hungry after drinking the intoxicating lies of life. And so many people out there are only waiting for a good taste in their mouths.
The Bible says we don’t live on food alone but from every word that comes from the word of God (Matthew 4:4). This is our food for the spirit and soul. The Bible also says that we can see and taste that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8). So let’s give them the Word Incarnate, with a little bit of biscuit and tea, shall we?
